The purpose of this descriptive study was to explore the inner blockages of creative thinking of a group of 224 student teachers from the Specialist Teacher Training Institute, Kuala Lumpur. Two instruments, “The Story-Writing Test” and “The Two String Test” were used to collect data. The results indicated that the majority of the subjects’ creative thinking (87.95%) was seriously blocked by stimulus fixity, one of the inner blockages of creative thinking. The finding implied that the lecturers of these student teachers should help them to unblock this inner blockage, before enhancing their creative thinking skill.
