Effect of Instruction on Spatial Visualization Ability in Civil Engineering Students: Learning How to Communicate, Represent and Mean
The aim of this study was to test whether manipulative and sketching activities could influence spatial ability in engineering students. A pre – and post – test quasi- experimental design was employed using 8 intact classes of civil engineering students from unit of Marvdasht university.
The treatment group (n=55) manipulated objects and learnt to sketch from observation and imagination during their structural design class, while the control group (n=53) had their regular structural design class. The results of:
1- There was not significant difference between experimental and control groups.
2- There was significant difference between male and female.
3- There was not significant difference between spatial Visualization Ability and Intelligence them.
4- There was significant difference at various courses.
