This session will demonstrate how to link organizational priorities to measurable outcomes by setting targets, designing measures and reporting on plans. Learning should be integrated into planning at every level of the organization, and this session will demonstrate tools that further that goal. The balanced scorecard will be demonstrated, as will suggestions for accountability frameworks. The session will focus on practical tools for instituting governance around educational programs, and ensuring that everyone--trainers, teachers, managers, students--are aligned with the priorities of the organization.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is Canada's national police force. The organization is reponsible for federal policing in areas such as national security and organized crime, as well as for provincial and municipal policing in eleven of Canada's provinces and territories. The Learning and Development Branch of the RCMP is responsible for all training and the Learning Strategy, Reporting and Governance section is responsible for educational governance and reporting to various government entities. The RCMP has been in the Top 125 Training Organizations, as decided by Training Magazine, for the past two years.
